Meet our Team

Kara Foye, LMHC

How I help:

My specialty is helping folx ages 18+ overcome eating disorder symptoms and body image distress so they can fully focus on what they value most in their daily lives. At the core of my work with clients is authenticity and warmth (and often a generous dose of humor). Although I specialize in supporting individuals in their eating disorder recovery, I also work with folx working through anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and difficulty managing stress and/or life transitions. While the majority of my clients are in individual therapy, my graduate concentration was in marriage and family therapy. I work with couples seeking to improve communication and conflict resolution.

I consider my style of counseling to be “eclectic.” First and foremost, my approach is person-centered. I utilize different treatment modalities to fit the unique needs of each client. I am experienced in and draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also am EMDR trained.

How I help:

Utilizing a compassionate and collaborative approach, I work to create a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients to explore their emotions and develop effective coping strategies. I believe in the importance of a holistic approach to wellness, addressing both mental and physical well-being. I firmly believes in the potential for personal growth that every individual possesses. I advocate for a strengths-based methodology to enhance the self-efficacy and resiliency of my clients. Bailey dowler, lcsw

I have been in the mental health field for over 8 years. During this time, I have worked across many levels of care, including inpatient, residential, group homes, and therapeutic school settings. I enjoy working with children (8 years and up), teens, and young adults with depression, anxiety, eating disorders and trauma.

How I help:

I utilize a trauma informed, person-centered approach to collaborate with my clients and their families to address the various challenges that they may be facing whether that be school refusal, self-harm, eating disorders etc. I am passionate about eating disorder education, advocacy, and recovery. I strive to promote body diversity and inclusivity in my practice and consider myself to be HAES – aligned. I value humor and find that it can be incredibly healing when utilized in therapy with clients. I am experienced in Art Therapy, DBT, CBT and Motivational Interviewing and find that using a combination of approaches is often the best way to find what works in everyone’s unique treatment.
